European Space Week 2017

3-9 November in Tallinn, Estonia

The Presidency of the Council of the European Union is held by Estonia for the first time, hosting meetings, working groups and events across Estonia.

Tallinn, Estonia’s capital, will be turned into the capital of Space for an entire week this November, the “European Space Week” 2017.

Fostering a digital Europe and ensuring the movement of free data has been identified by the Estonia’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union as one of the four priorities for securing the future economic success of Europe. This is in line with the EU Space Strategy and Europe’s goal of empowering global entrepreneurs to tackle global challenges on Earth to the benefit of European citizens.

The Space Week will foster interactions between the space and digital community and will provide visibility to the rapidly changing space sector, its applications and the European Union’s Space Programmes Copernicus and Galileo. The central aim is to bring together the most important space stakeholders, companies, partners and visionaries in Europe pushing the topic of space in Europe and beyond.

“European Space Week” 2017 (EUSW2017) will bring you a constellation of events ranging from hackathons, accelerator boot camps, a festive awards ceremony, various thematic conferences, a Horizon 2020 Space Info Day, ministerial and inter-parliamentary meetings, the opening of the ESA-BIC, and exhibitions – all across nine different locations in Tallinn as well as Tartu. The week will address different space-related topics of interest to a wide range of audiences from policy makers to start-ups and SMEs, public authorities, industry players as well as the general public. A constant knowledge exchange will take place in debates, match-making and networking sessions, workshops, symposia and exhibitions.
